Math Activities

April 13 - 17 - Week 2

Parents, feel free to take pictures of your child doing the activities or their completed work and email to their teacher!

Remember:  Please do what you can, but be flexible if it doesn't work.  If you notice that your child is struggling, try together, don't get frustrated and end with a smile.

Monday

It is a school holiday today.  There are no specific tasks for the day, but just like every day, make sure you play a dice, card or board game together!

Tuesday

Counting Collections

Using one of the collections you found last week (or a new one) of at least 20, it is time to organize your count.  Find some containers around the house and put 10 in each container, leave the rest out.  Count them by 10s.  Record.

**PLEASE SEND YOUR RECORDING SHEET OR COLLECTIONS TO YOUR TEACHER WHEN YOU ARE DONE!**

Wednesday

Math Journal

The Easter Bunny visited my garden.  I can see 20 eggs.  Some are blue, and some are yellow.  Draw a picture of what you see.   Write a math sentence to match.

Thursday
  • Pick a Number : 10, 16, 38

  • Think about everything you know about the number.  Can you find something to use as counters (paper squared, beads, pasta, marshmallows, cereal...)?

  • How can you break it up?

  • Write down everything you know about the number.

**Need some help - see Mrs. Muir's son Allister tell you what he knows about 10.
