Activities

April 27 - May 1 - Week 4

Parents, feel free to take pictures of your child doing the activities or their completed work and email to their teacher!

Remember:  Please do what you can, but be flexible if it doesn't work.  If you notice that your child is struggling, try together, don't get frustrated and end with a smile.

Please continue to LOGIN and READ at least 10 minutes daily on Raz-Kids.

Try to record one book in Raz-Kids - it will send directly to your teacher

Monday

Write in your journal.  Did you do anything over the weekend?  If your child is having trouble they could write about their favorite game to play - inside or outside.

Try to write 2-3 sentences

Make sure it is EASY TO READ (finger spaces, neat printing) and has INTERESTING details.

Parents, our students are used to writing independently, please give them some time to try to spell what they can and do their own work - the way they would in the classroom

We need to get the poem on a piece of paper today.

You can print out the poem, have an adult print it, share printing with an adult (turn taking) or write it out all by yourself.    Click on the button for the poem.

**If you notice frustration, please help your child.  You can write with a light coloured marker or highlighter and they can trace also.

Wednesday

Click on "Earth Poem" to get a printable copy of the poem

Example: one, sun, fun, done, bun etc.

Listen to Mrs. Dewarle read the story "Freight Train" by PD Eastman.  This is a poetry book for poetry month.  Listen and enjoy!

Read/Sing the Poem.

Cut up the poem by it's sentences.  Can you put it back together?

Need a challenge?  Cut it up in groups of 2-3 words or even each word!

Be Careful! Don't lose any - you need them tomorrow!

Listen to Mrs. Dewarle as she talks about making your very own poem like "Freight Train".  Can you make your own just like her?

**Parents, this is a tricky little activity - maybe you can just brainstorm things that move along - bikes, boats, trains, cars, skateboard and think about where you go when you are doing that activity.
